The Story Behind Our FU Face Mask The world is experiencing a unprecedented event in the COVID-19 pandemic. And while it wasn't immediately clear how Hero Culture could help, that changed with onset of a massive shortage in PPE's (Personal Protective Equipment); notably face masks.
On Tuesday March 24th the idea to help by making a DIY face mask from available materials was hatched. On Wednesday March 25th fabric was sourced locally in Richmond, BC from a new supplier, a pattern was sourced online (available free here: freesewing.org) and we began making prototypes. What ensued was two solid days of testing, pricing, marketing, documenting our story and getting ready to offer this product to the public.
Piggybacking on our One For One toque drive we've decided to do a One For One mask drive; Hero will donate a mask to someone in need for every mask sold.*
The FU Face Mask Our mask is made from 60 thread count 100% cotton, is machine washable and features a fun reversible design. It's recommended for personal use only and we insist that you wash before it's first use. Our design is unisex and comes in three sizes, small, medium and large.
